Does Presto offer leak detection as a standalone service in Boston?
No. Envelope diagnostics and leak consulting are part of a Presto commercial restoration project rather than a service we sell on its own, and the projects they sit inside typically start at a $50,000 minimum. The reason is methodological rather than commercial: the investigation is built to produce a repair scope, and detached from the repair it produces a document nobody acts on. An owner who wants a single inspection, a residential opinion or a small-budget consultation is better served by a Boston inspection or engineering practice, and we will say so rather than take the work. Our scope is also above grade only, so buried service lines and below-grade structures are outside it.
What diagnostic methods does Presto use to identify leaks in Boston buildings?

One thing a Boston report will not carry is a product approval number: Massachusetts runs no statewide product-approval or Notice of Acceptance register, and materials are accepted here on third-party testing and labeling under the state building code, so our specifications cite test standards instead.
How long does the investigation take before repair work can start?
It depends on the building, on how many candidate paths there are, and on which tests the symptoms call for. One suspected joint or perimeter can be resolved in a day or two. A whole envelope with several candidate areas, each needing controlled water testing in its turn, runs one to three weeks. Weather sets the outer limit here more than in a warm market: water testing tells you little about a frozen wall, and a booked test day gets moved by a nor’easter often enough that we build slack into the program.
