A: Most sealant and coating work requires temperatures above roughly 40 F, so the main application season runs April through October. Winter is the right time for inspections, leak investigations, and planning so crews mobilize the moment weather allows.
A: Road salt carried in on vehicles dissolves into meltwater and penetrates concrete, corroding the reinforcing steel inside. Corroding steel expands and cracks the deck from within. A maintained traffic membrane blocks the chlorides and is far cheaper than structural repair.
