The headquarters of the North American Mission Board (NAMB) is a 75,304-square-foot office building constructed in 1995. Located in Atlanta, Georgia, this architecturally designed commercial building features a combination of glass, precast stone, and metal facade surfaces. Presto Restoration completed a comprehensive building facade restoration and waterproofing project for this facility.

THE FACADE RESTORATION CHALLENGE: Window, Precast Stone, and Caulking Services in Atlanta, Georgia

The high-rise office building in Atlanta, GA, needed extensive building facade restoration. The existing caulking on the facade had deteriorated and required replacement. Stains had damaged the anodized aluminum window frames and architectural glass. Additionally, the precast stone surfaces needed cleaning and restoration. Rust on some metal surfaces on the roof also impacted the building facade.

Presto Restoration tackled every aspect of the building facade restoration and waterproofing process. We began with  Stone Restore HD to clean and restore the precast stone surfaces. To protect these surfaces, we applied Leach Stop, which safeguards the facade from mineral leaching, stain development, and water damage. For the glass, we used Glass Resurfacer Final Polish to remove corrosion, stains, and scratches, followed by Glass Defender HD for a long-lasting protective coating. We addressed the metal surfaces with Metal ReSurfacer to remove corrosion and then applied Metal Protector HD to prevent future damage. We also replaced nearly 8 miles of caulking with Dow Corning 757 SMS ‘stain-resistant’ silicone caulking, ensuring a durable and effective seal on the building facade.
